My Projects

As an avid learner who is always curious about the world and how I can change it, I truly believe that building projects and exposing myself to unique experiences has led me to learn and grow an unimaginable amount, and will continue to lead me down exciting, impactful, and innovative paths.

Companies I Have Worked With

Accomplishments

Speaker @ C2 Montreal Conference

I was flown to Montreal to speak and attend the C2 Montreal business, tech, art, and innovation conference. On C2's main stage, I spoke about one of my projects in solar energy, hope for the future and climate change, and how young innovators like me are building for global impact.

Keynote Speaker @ Amazon AHEAD Showcase

I was one of two students selected to speak at the Amazon AHEAD showcase, where I presented my project about the encapsulation of perovskite solar cells to executives at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from around the Unites States.

Winner - TKS x Walmart BlueLabs Sprint Challenge

My team and I worked alongside Walmart BlueLabs - Walmart's innovation sector - to create a voice assistant app that guides customers inside stores with features such as directions to products, nutritional values, and connections to friends and family, all enabled and communicated by voice. We won the challenge out of more than 250 people around the world, and presented our idea to executives at Walmart.

Top 10 Finalist - TKS x Amazon Alexa Global Challenge

My team and I worked alongside Amazon Alexa, where we created a personalized voice assistant and workout coach app targeting Gen-Z and the at-home exercise industry. Out of more than 150 people from around the world, my team and I got to the top 10 finalists chosen by Amazon Alexa.

Winner - TKS Explore Hackathon

In a hackathon as a part of the TKS program, my team and I created an at-home blood monitoring system for chemotherapy patients that leveraged nanotechnology smart sensors inserted into the interstitial fluid and AI to send blood data to an app on the patient's phone and healthcare provider's system. Out of more than 150 people, our team was selected as the winner by judges from Amazon, Acorn Biolabs, and more.

Best Presentation Winner - TKS Moonshot Challenge

In the TKS Moonshot, where teams were challenged to build a futuristic startup solving global problems in only four weeks, my team and I innovated a cure to Type-2 Diabetes using MOF nanoparticles and gene editing, built a website, articles, and financial plan, then presented it to venture capitalists, where we won the award of 'best presentation.'

Projects

Building A New Perovskite Solar Cell Encapsulation Layer

To solve the problem of incredibly short lifetimes of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) I am working on creating a new PSC encapsulation layer, using a 2,2ʹ-dimethylbenzidine (DMBZ) and 4,4'-Oxydianiline (ODA) cross-linked polyimide aerogel. I hope to increase lifespan and decrease extrinsic degradation enough to put PSCs on the market, accelerating the future of the solar industry.

Leader Of An Initiative To Ban Single-Use Plastic Foodware In Marin County.

I lead a successful initiative to ban single-use plastic foodware in my county, where I helped write an ordinance, worked with local businesses  and environmental organizations, as well as presented in front of my county's Board of Supervisors to pass the initiative. I was also nominated for a youth climate action award by a local environmental organization.

Proposal For Sodium-Ion Batteries In Solar Storage

My proposal to solve one of the biggest problems in the solar industry - the duck curve - using a next-gen cheaper, safer, and more efficient alternative to lithium-ion solar storage: sodium-ion batteries.

Analyzing MCF and ICF Fusion Reactors And Their Commercialization Potential

I analyzed the two main categories of fusion reactors: inertial confinement fusion (ICF) and magnetic confinement fusion (MCF) to see which one would most likely be deployed for grid-reliable commercial energy in the future, and came to the conclusion that ICF was the most likely.
